Four facts about various characters, go!
Shun Facts
1.In the earliest drafts, he was NOT the main character of the story. Thats right, in my original concept, the main characters were two girls traveling across the country in a beat-up van. Shun was a supporting character, a young hitchhiker that they picked up sometime in the third or fourth chapter. He was also
2.Supposed to be a thief! In my original concept, he was a runaway and a mischievous little sneak who stole what he needed to get by and got chased out of town a lot. He was always getting his two nameless nakama sisters into trouble.
3.His pun-tastic name was a total accident. The name Shun I picked up from one of my favorite old anime series, Saint Seiya. Ryokucha was just a fun-sounding Japanese word that I thought made for an interesting last name. It took me three months to realize that Id just named him instant/green tea.
4.Hes gone through more supporting casts than I care to think about. Besides the nameless nakama sisters, he also had an annoying little girl who was absolutely in love with him, a tough-talking biker chick named Luna Wolf, a conniving salesman and of course, Marshall Midori Uriko, the prototype of his current companion, Madonna Coronado.
Galileo Facts
1.He was originally from the future. Galileo originally popped up in a proto-story I was tinkering with where the turtles and their friends/enemies/etc. had all been reincarnated into humans (well, most of them were humans) in San Francisco. Galileo was supposed to the major inciting incident of the second storyline, and a big part of his character was the incarnated turtles worrying about him being the only one of his kind. I changed him to his current era because it was simpler, but also
2.He moved to the present out of rebellion against turtle girls. Er yeah. Sorry ladies, but I tend to have very little patience for a lot of female turtle OCs. Okay, female OCs in general. Most of the ones Ive seen on this site have been well fleshed-out and developed, and I cant tell you how freakin awesome that is; but I also got really, really tired of cookie-cutter self insertions created just so the creator can imagine getting all domestic with their favorite turtle boy. This is also the reason he has no mother.
3.He was never supposed to be a ninja, nor was he meant to age further than maybe 10 or 12. The only reason he gets bumped up to 18 on occasion is because TMNT-U was just too awesome an idea to pass up.
4.I only recently decided on his weapons. Given his fear of blood, battle and violence (and, you know, fact #3) it was a really tough fit finding something that would suit him. I finally decided on Escrima sticks and a bag full of caltrops.
Vox Facts
1.He was originally a TMNT OC! Thats right! If you go to my FF.Net page, you can still see the story. He was originally slotted to play opposite Cameo Jones (the daughter of Caseys canon daughter, Shadow) and a mutated alligator named Tanner in a cyberpunk-esque TMNT story where Donatello oversaw an entire city of mutant beneath New York. In addition
2.He was supposed to be Raphs apprentice. The story opened up with everyone assuming that Donatello was the last of the TMNT to survive, never knowing that Raph had survived as well. Vox figures this out on accident and participates in the resulting rescue mission. His reward is a new home and a (somewhat reluctant) place as Raphaels student.
3.I honestly dont know who the hell his real parents are. Vox was abandoned as a newborn and raised by the man he calls Grandpa. A lot of people assume that his real parents are going to be a major part of the story, but really, I dont have a clue who they are or why the hell theyd show up.
4.Hes actually really freaking strong. Those balls he carries are made of an ultra-dense material and weigh about 30 pounds each. He hasnt taken them off since he was 12. You do the math.
